Beth Garcia is a Communications Specialist at the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery where she works across teams to create content that conveys the Fund’s work and impact. Prior to joining the Fund, Beth led communications for a small education nonprofit in Alexandria. She has experience working in government, academia, and the nonprofit sector and has written for such organizations as the U.S. State Department, UNVolunteers, Refugee Empowerment International and Asante Africa Foundation. She earned her PhD in History from George Mason University in 2020. She holds an MA in History from George Mason University and a BA in History and Women and Gender Studies from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
