Amit Garg – Country Manager, India
Amit Garg is the Country Manager for India at the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery and provides strategic direction and operational leadership for the fund’s anti-trafficking mandate in region. Previously, Amit lead the Corporate Citizenship portfolio for Credit Suisse, focusing on the bank’s philanthropic grants in skill development and livelihoods in India. Prior to that, with the Godrej Group’s sustainability portfolio, Amit managed the community investments and sustainability interventions for group companies including in their construction, palm oil and consumer goods businesses. Having started his career in technology, Amit has since been part of the founding teams of two early stage social enterprises in healthcare before moving to UNICEF as State Coordinator - Monitoring & Evaluation for the state of Bihar in India. Amit holds a masters degree in Public Policy & Human Development from the United Nations University in addition to a bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
