U.S. Department of State releases 2018 Trafficking in Persons Report
The U.S. Department of State today released its 2018 Trafficking in Persons Report, an annual publication that provides a global overview of the nature and scope of trafficking in persons and various efforts underway to confront it.
The report’s theme of “local solutions to a global problem” highlights the critical role of communities in recognizing and combating slavery, a principle the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery (GFEMS) strongly supports.
As a public-private partnership seeking to catalyze and coordinate a coherent global strategy to end modern slavery, GFEMS recognizes how important it is for partners around the world to have a shared understanding of the size and scope of human trafficking. We look forward to working with others in the anti-slavery field to apply valuable information from the report in confronting this challenge.
